I recently read All the Sad Young Literary Men after I kept hearing about it on Gawker as they frequently bash the author, Keith Gessen (he has his own tag). I’ve read a bunch of Gessen’s writings in n+1, the magazine he founded, and have always enjoyed the way he writes, so I dove right in to his first book.

Unsubscribing frenzy
The last two weeks I’ve been falling behind in reading all my RSS feeds (moving, work, etc got in the way), so every time I’d see I had over 100 items unread, I just marked them all as read and moved on. This morning I went and unsubscribed from 10 feeds that I get but never read; it took my unread count down from 46 to 16.
Lesson: don’t subscribe to TechCrunch.
